💡 Story angles
- French indie dev. Solo project, vanilla JS + Cloudflare Workers, AGPL-3.0 code on GitHub. The anti-monopoly take on music streaming gimmicks.
- Pride meme tool. Designed for TikTok/Insta sharing: oversized score, snarky tier labels, downloadable card.
- Algorithmic profiling, but make it funny. Where Spotify Wrapped is sterile and corporate, Pepite is absurd and warm. Same data, treated as a joke between friends.
- Coop platform (V1). The roadmap heads toward an open, coop-owned video platform with Lightning Bitcoin monetisation — alternative to TikTok/YouTube.
- Short video format. 5–15s demo perfect for reels: scan in progress → 87% result → reaction. Embedded tutorial.

❓ Quick FAQ
Is it free? What's the catch?
Yes, 100% free. No account required to test — importing your library is enough. No ads, no third-party cookies, no data resale. Funded out of pocket; long-term goal is a coop-owned model.
How does the scoring work?
A grid of music tags ("gay-coded", "pride-coded", "black-coded") is applied to each track in the library. The score is a weighted average. The grid is deliberately subjective and funny — it's comedy, not science.
Why a "Black" test?
Affinity with Black music (soul, hip-hop, R&B, gospel, jazz). Same format as the other two tests. Tier label is celebratory, not mocking.
Is the code open source?
Yes, AGPL-3.0 at github.com/LmrTristan/Pepite. Forks welcome, self-hosting encouraged.
Does Pepite collect my Spotify data?
Processing is local (browser-side). No library export is stored server-side. Only anonymous UUIDs and event counters for traffic measurement. Fully GDPR-compliant, see the privacy policy.
Is there an extension?
Yes, a Chrome extension (published May 24, 2026) that replaces YouTube's algorithmic suggestions with your own curated playlists. Free on the Chrome Web Store, ID hddmhggcnfibbnfcjplfboklmnbmopml.
Mobile-friendly?
Yes, the site is a PWA (Progressive Web App) installable on Android and iOS — appears as an app on the home screen.
